Orchestra Cuts

Prepare for very fast segues for all songs; there's never a dull moment musically. Also, please note the vastly changed order here.

Carousel

  • Cut from G2 to G3.

If We Only Have Love Intro 1

  • Note the direct segue into the next song.

Alone

  • For the 3m after J, keep the pattern you're playing in the preceding vamp, but build it in volume.

The Bulls

  • Rewritten in the key of Bb. There are new bass and guitar parts available.
  • Ignore the intro here. We start at 9 measures after C, the measure before we start the Tango (this cut is already part of the rewritten parts).
  • Ritardando (colla voce) 5m before E1 (and again the second time through).
  • Jump to coda should be at the end of measure 17.

Jackie    NEW

  • New intro has been written, and is available in bass, guitar, and drum parts. This replaces the first verse of the song, and afterwards we go straight to the vamp before the second verse.
  • The new intro has one measure of drum fill before the vamp at A. This should probably be two measures.

My Childhood

  • New song; I handed out music for it.

If We Only Have Love Intro 2

  • Note the direct segue into the next song.

Desperate Ones

  • Cut the last 5m (from F on).

Timid Frieda

  • Tacet after railroad tracks (probably marked E in your parts). Start playing again halfway through the eighth measure after that point.
  • Cut the last 8m piano solo.

The Statue

  • Cut the last 5m.

Sons of…

  • Tenuto on the last beat 2m before E.
  • Ritardando starting at 6th measure after F.
  • Repeat the two measures 3-4m before the end.

Madeleine

  • Add a low D7 chord, tenuto, after the final note.

Instrumental

  • This is going to be all me. Piano solo. Someday I'll know what I'm going to play.

Girls and Dogs    NEW

  • Drums: don't play after the tacet section until you hear my lead-in (a pattern of eighth notes). Then start playing at the downbeat for E.

Bachelor's Dance

  • The first part of this will be very laid back – just chords on the downbeats and changes from A to the vamp before C.
  • When we hit the vamp, this should become a faster, hard rock beat. Aim for straight fours instead of syncopation through C.
  • At D, it can be done as written.
  • At the vamp before E, return to the laid back feel at the start.
  • At 6m before the end (the 2/4 measure), hit the Ab chord and hold it until cut off. Cut the rest of the song.

The Middle Class

  • Please note that Middle Class and Amsterdam have been swapped.
  • Rewritten in the key of G. There are new bass and guitar parts available.
  • Wayne: Please don't play mm46-47.

If We Only Have Love Intro 3

  • Treat the first measure as a vamp.
  • Note the direct segue into the next song.

No Love, You're Not Alone

  • At D.S., go back to start, not to A.
  • Cut last 2 measures. Replace with a G chord.

Brussels    NEW

  • Instead of the last 3m, play an A chord (half note), G# (half note), and then two quick A chords (quarter notes). Drums should play only one measure of the eighth-note snares, and then two quarter-note snares.

If We Only Have Love Intro 4

  • Note the direct segue into the next song.

Funeral Tango

  • Cut the first 11 measures.

My Death

  • Rewritten as a stronger rock number. Available in bass, guitar, and drum parts.

Marathon    NEW

  • No drums or guitar.
  • Orchestra cut off 1 measure early. No new ending, we just stop playing.

If We Only Have Love

  • At F, play the first two measures, then a C chord and hold until I cut you off.
