Rehearsal MP3s have the designated part in the right ear, and the other parts softer and to the left. Any bits that are spoken in rhythm are not part of these tracks. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to make them more usable.
Music Changes
Orchestra (#1)
- This number is cut; we're doing a cold open into the show.
- The ending (mm41-44) will be played onstage, but the orchestra is tacet.
Falling (#2)
- The opening (mm1-18) will be played onstage.
Workin' It Out Prologue (#2A)
- This number will be played onstage.
Workin' It Out (#3)
- Cut mm143–146.
The B Side (#4A)
- This number is being replaced with background music by Sir Elton John.
If He Really Knew Me (Reprise) (#8 and #8A)
- This song is being changed to be sung by the boys and girls, not Vernon and Sonia. I have a PDF with the updated voice parts.
- There are not expected to be orchestration changes.
Right (#9)
- The opening is written with a very hard swing. Aim for a more medium swing rhythm.
Right Verse 3 (#11)
- When Vernon shouts "Wrong!", we're treating it as beat 1 of a full 4/4 measure. So, same tempo as previous number, his shout is beat 1, play on beat 3, and then into the song.
Act I Curtain (#12A)
- In m13, sustain the chord for the measure length (no fermata), then go on to m14.
When You're In My Arms (#14)
- Opening 4 bars (A-D) are played onstage. Orchestra can join in on the downbeat of D.
A Lyricist? (#14B) and False Starts (#14C)
- These are pre-recorded on a tape that we've received from the rights organization, so we're tacet here.
Vernon's Theme (#17)
- Also pre-recorded, so we are tacet.
